"Triune God"

The term triune, in reference to god is commonly labeled, a "Trinity", which is a doctrine of the majority of Christian denominations. Despite this teaching that has become a long-standing tradition, the doctrine of the Trinity is literally contrary to the original Hebrew and Greek scriptures and the rest of this article is to show why I can and do say this. First let me handle the most common Bible text that may seems to supports this triune concept, "For there are three that bear record in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." (I John 5:7, KJV). Some versions use italics after the word "record" and on, to note that it was added text, appearing only in a few later copies, also some versions of this verse end with "*" noting a comment at the bottom. In the one King James Version, I have (a study Bible) their comment is: "Greek manuscripts are unanimous in showing that verse 7 should end with "record." (Literally it says: There are three who bear witness.") Likewise, verse 8 should read simply "The spirit, the water, and the blood; and the three are in agreement." The longer versions of these verses made their way into the traditional printed Greek Testament (TR) and thus into the KJV due to influence of the Latin Bible and only four late Greek manuscripts. The point of John's original version was that the witnesses of verse 6 comprise one unified testimony to the veracity of the gospel. This insight in turn paves the way for verse 9. (Thomas Nelson Publishers). This indicating that verse 7 should read as, "For there are three that bear record." (KJV). The New International Version, uses the shorter version described in the original Greek text, mentioned above in "purple". Verse 8 should read, "The spirit, the water, and the blood; and the three are in agreement." (KJV).My Interlinear Bible (JP Green) used italics, indicating that this was added, also, some Bibles don't identify that anything was added. You should do your own research about this. My reasoning is because, this was added later, indicating that the Trinity doctrine needed support because there wasn't any Biblical presence of this doctrine in all the originals. I find this to be true in my research, because all of God's word (Bible) supports a singular God, "Jehovah" by name in the Hebrew text and "Lord" is a substitute for God's name in the Greek text, although many uses of "Lord" refers to Jesus Christ, but without any distinction for either one.

In review of the many descriptions of God in the Old Testament: "To you it is revealed, so that you might know that Jehovah is God, and no one else besides Him." (Deut. 4:35) "Hear, O Israel, Jehovah our God is one Jehovah." (Deut. 6:4), "You alone are He, O Jehovah; You have made the heavens, and heavens of the heavens..." (Nehemiah 9:6), "for all the peoples of the earth know that Jehovah, He is God; there is no other." (I Kings 8:60), "And let them know, Your name is Jehovah, that You alone are the Most High over all the earth." (Psalm 83:18), "For Jehovah is our shield, and the Holy One of Israel our King." (Psalm 89:18), "and says the Lord, Jehovah of host, the Mighty One of Israel..." (Isaiah 1:24), ”And Jehovah shall be King over all the earth. In that day there shall be one Jehovah, and His name one." (Zechariah 14:9), there are over one hundred verses declaring that God is "One" and not one declaring that God is more then one, plus, about a third give the name "Jehovah" as His personal identity.

In the New Testament, "And the one swearing by Heaven swears by the throne of God and by  the One sitting on it." (Matthew 23:22), "And the scribe said to Him, You say well Teacher. You have spoken according to truth, that God is one, and there is no other besides Him.", In Mark 12, Christ quotes Deut. 6:4, "And Jesus answered Him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear Israel, the Lord (Jehovah) our God is one Lord (Jehovah)." (Mark 12:29), the purple indicates how it is stated in the Hebrew text of Deut. 6:4,  "And the scribe said to Him, You say well, Teacher. You have spoken according to the truth, that God is one,  and there is no other besides Him." (Mark 12:32), "And this is everlasting life that they may know You, the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent." (John 17:3), "And Jesus said to her, Do not touch Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father, but go to My brothers and say to them, I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God." (John 20:1), "And he said, Behold I see the heavens having been opened, and the Son of man standing at the right of God." (Acts 7:56), "earnestly testifying both to Jews and to Greeks repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ." (Acts 20:21), "But I want you to know that Christ is the Head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ." (I Corinthians 11:3), "But the mediator is not of one, but God is one." (Galatians 3:20), "For God is one, also there is one Mediator of God and man, the Man Jesus Christ." (I Timothy 2:5). Jesus also makes a separation between Him and His Father in the Old Testament, "Jehovah possessed Me in the beginning of His way, from then before His works." (Proverbs 8:22), and throughout the Old Testament (original language), Jehovah is the God and the Father of His only-begotten Son, plus the Father of Adam by creation, "And Jehovah God formed the man out of dust from the ground, and blew into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." (Genesis 2:7) and we are all of Adam's seed. As you can see, there are verses throughout the Bible declaring God to be a singular Being, but let's hear from Jehovah Himself on this subject, "And God said, let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness..." (Genesis 1:26) and uniting this with verse 29, "And God said, Behold, I have given you every plant seeding seed..." (Genesis 1:29). As you can see in verse 26, God was talking with someone of the same likeness, which could only be His only-begotten Son and He used the words "Us" and "Our" but in verse 29 God spoke of Himself as "I" and this is consistent throughout God's word. "Us" or "Our" were actually addition by the translators, but I can accept them in this verse. It may be important to you to know that the name "Jehovah" is presented 6747 times in the Hebrew text, but was replaced by the translators with two titles, "Lord" and "God" except for four times in the KJV, and similar in most other common Bibles.

Another verse used by Trinitarians to declare that God is triune, is, "Going, then disciples all nation, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." (Matthew 28:19). This lists the three elements are simply, what is generally used in the conversion of a soul, in their preparation for baptism, this verse says nothing about the make-up of the Almighty God. If you weigh these many "One God" verses with the one verse (I John 5:7) that was added to a few of the later Greek manuscripts, then you should clearly see what is consistent in God's word, and we know that God is consistent, and He gave all this to His Son, who is also consistent, the inspirer to all the writers of the Bible, the Word of God. Jesus also cannot lie because He inherited all His Father's traits, but not Jehovah's sovereign authority. The challenge for you is to find verses or even just one verse that states that God is three beings to make up one God, and determine if it outweighs the many verses that states, God is one, but it won't be found in God's word. There are other arguments used in an attempt to prove the Trinity doctrine as Biblical, but they are from the thoughts of man and have no Biblical support.

The last point I want to stress is, since there are no verses or a single Bible verse that describes a triune god, then there would be no point or reason for presenting the concept of a "Godhead", which is a term used for divine Beings, this would be redundant if a Trinity already is a Biblical fact as a description of God Almighty. According to God's word there are only two Beings mentioned in scripture that we are called to worship, Jehovah, the Father and Jesus (Michael) the Son of Jehovah. An additional spirit, other then the spirit of Jehovah, “And the Spirit of Jehovah has spoken by me and His word is on my tongue.” (2 Sam. 23:2) and the spirit of Christ, “For I know that this will result in salvation to me through your petition, and supply the Spirit of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:19), comes from the imaginations of man. Because we were made in God's image, we also have a spirit, but our spirit is greatly limited in comparison, as it must be. A third person of the "Godhead" or of a "Trinity" would be considered an idol and not Biblical. Here is an important point to consider: If your not worshiping the God of the Bible, as He is described in the word of God, given to us by inspirations from His Son, who knew God Almighty Jehovah personally, then we are worshiping a god that Christ never knew nor has made known to us, therefore, any one or any thing worshipped, other then the one God, Jehovah, or the two qualified to be in the "Godhead", all else would be an idol. Let us consider with soberness the first commandment, "I am Jehovah your God, who brought you out from the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. You shall not have any other gods beside Me." (Exodus 20:2,3). This first command could not be made clearer, and He did use the words "I" and "Me" and not "We" and "Us" but "I am Jehovah". If your minds eye cannot see this as truth, then you have no love for the truth.

In addition, there are several Bible translations alterations that promote the acceptance of the Trinity. The translation of "I Am" as a name for God in Exodus 3:14, and then for Jesus in John 8:58, pushing one to think that Jesus is also God almighty or part of the three in one god that makes up the one triune god. A quick dissection of this error comes first from Exodus, "I Am" is translated from: hayah (Strong's #1961, no where in this list of English possibilities is "I Am", then in verse 15 God says, "And God said to Moses again, You shall say this to the sons of Israel, Jehovah, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My title from generations to generations." (Exodus 3:15). John 8:58 doesn't answer the question asked of Jesus, a correct translation would be "was" or "have been". A full study is in this website, "I Am Question", or do your own research.

Other such translation adjustment are Isaiah 9:6 and Jeremiah 23:6, both make the same adjustment. Isaiah 9:6 "For a child is born; to us a Son is given; and the government is on His shoulder; and His name is called Wonderful, Counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace." #7121 comes first meaning to call or to preach, publish, pronounce and others. Then: #8034 honor, authority, character named but no "is called". To confirm the correct translation, not all these names listed can not be applied to the Son of God, "mighty God, and everlasting Father" can not be attached to Jesus since God is one, and consider, Genesis 2:7 "And Jehovah God formed man out of the dust from the ground, and blew into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.", This clearly states that Jehovah, God supplied the breath of life. Jeremiah contains the same error, "In His (the Branch) days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely. And this is the name He shall be preaching (call on) Jehovah our Righteousness." (Jeremiah 23:6), I corrected this verse, you can read in your Bible how the various translations read.

Another part of Satan's attempt to validate a triune god is by instructing men, the translators, to capitalize (H)oly (S)pirit, representing this as a name which has no support in the Greek or Hebrew text, also the same treatment to (H)oly (G)host in the Greek. In the Hebrew text the spirit of Jehovah is mentioned 24 times and the spirit of Christ is mentioned 5 times, plus a host of others that show possession, with My, Your, His and God. Could there be more then one spirit, or a spirit that is in addition to Jehovah's or Christ's? This is not logical, because Jehovah's spirit can accomplish anything Jehovah desired to do with His spirit. It is important to stand on Biblical truth and not on the desires of man, especially if they originate from Satan.

If you search the history books you will find that, the triune god concept was brought into the church from the pagan religions by way of Emperor Constantine, in combination with some other non-Biblical doctrine, Sunday worship, which also stands firm as an established tradition, but not Biblical. If you think this is not important to Jehovah God, consider, "you shall not bow to them and you shall not serve them; for I am Jehovah your God, a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the father on children, on the third and on the fourth generation, to those that hate Me." (Exodus 20:5), this is the second part of the second Commandment. How can most of the Christian community miss this obvious point, unless they just listen to the many sermons and trust in their church leaders, and the host of theologians, and not read from God's word; not follow Jesus as their Shepherd to the truth presented in God's unchanging words. Is the Christian community blinded by the many words of man, who speak word outside the Biblical truths, presented from Genesis to Revelation? His Book was made for all to read and understanding, which is given as a gift for those seeking the truth within the pages of Jehovah's word.
