God’s Name Verses
The God of the Bible has a personal name, "And God said to Moses again, You shall
say this to the sons of Israel, Jehovah the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham,
the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever
and this is my title from generation to generation." (Exodus 3:15), and it is deemed
to be important by the One who inspired all the Bible writers, Jesus, the Christ
who was Michael. It was important to Jesus to include His Father's name, "Jehovah",
more then 6700 times in the Old Testament. The importance of His name has not changed
through the centuries, for God does not change, who is our Creator and sustainer.
What has changes is our respect and awareness of His Holy name. Unfortunately, because
God's name “Jehovah” has been replaced with titles, His name has been all but completely
forgotten from the modern pulpit and the minds of most Christians. What could be
a valid reason why the name “Jehovah” has been omitted from almost all Bibles, with
three exceptions (that I know of), the Jehovah’s Witnesses Bible, the American Standard
Version (no longer in print) and the JP Green Interlinear Bible, which contains the
Old Testament Hebrew text? In the King James Version, “Jehovah” remains only 4 times,
and similar exclusions are from other Bible versions/translations. Why only 4 times?
My answer is because God Jehovah would not allow a complete elimination. Most all
Bible versions with an Old Testament are taken from the Hebrew “Masoretic Text” which
fully contains the vuses of "Jehovah" the “Tetragrammaton” (the 4 Hebrew letters
that represent God’s personal name) 6747 times. This can be proven by viewing a Strong's
Concordance, and turning to the list of verses for "Lord" and you will notice that
almost all are the Srong's number #3068 (or #3069), then look up #3068 in the dictionary
part of Strong's and you will see that "Jehovah" "Yehovah" (the) self-
The third Commandment stresses the vain (empty, having no value) use of His personal name, "You shall not take the name of Jehovah your God in vain; for Jehovah will not leave unpunished the one who takes His name in vain." (Exodus 20:7). By continuing to leave His personal name out of our Bibles and far from our thoughts, are we not transgressing Jehovah God's third Commandment? What could be more vain and disrespectful to God and His name, then ignoring His personal name and replacing it with a general title? Changing anything in Jehovah's perfect word would be a sin. How can we expect Him to bless our name on judgment day if we don't call on Him by His rightful name?

One additional comment: Satan has been working diligently for the past six thousand years to eliminate his opponent, Jehovah, who justly tossed him out of Heaven. Satan has been working to eliminate the One and only God, Jehovah from the minds of man and especially the Christian. Satan first encouraged the Hebrews to think that God's name was too holy to be written or spooked and he was successful in that effort that the Hebrew's of today have lost the correct pronunciation of God's personal name. Only the Tetragrammaton (four consonants w/o vowels) is known for sure. Then, since the Hebrews led the way, the Christians, at some point after they were well established, followed the Hebrew lead, replacing the name of our God "Jehovah" (most common English translation) with "Lord" and "God" in the Old Testament and took that attitude to an extreme in the New Testament by eliminating "Jehovah" or a Greek translation, completely out, even though Christ and men quoted from the Old Testament and they read from the Hebrew scrolls.
From listening to a wide variety of sermons, I can say that most Christians have not only ignored His personal name, but in part, have put Jehovah God Himself in the background, and by Satan confusing most Christians with the idea that, the One and only living God, to be a god of three persons, named a Trinity, which is not found in all of scripture. Satan has been very successful at distracting the later Christian community from Jehovah, despite the words and inspiration from Christ who gave His Father all credit, and with Christ's objective to revealing His Father to us and to lead us home to our God and Father's kingdom. There is so much more on this error but this should be sufficient to peak one's interest in conducting your own study and research in understanding the importance of knowing the name of God "Jehovah".
